High School Home

We are there now guys. The 28th of Feb., next Monday will be the start of tryouts. Hopefully the weather will be kind to us though I doubt it very much.

Just a reminder of some of the info you get by clicking on the button at the bottom of this page. By the way, don't forget to check out the tryout outline on that link, but don't be late (3:15 PM) ready to go and dressed accordingly, with a water bottle as well as indoor and outdoor clothing and shoes. Also checkout the Coaches Corner page as well.

There may be a few changes to the tryout schedule. I don't think many but this is first time I have done this program which has involved a lot of planning as well as cost as I am trying to be fair to all the boys at tryouts. The system will allow me not just to see the "total athlete" but will provide me a way of ranking all the boys during tryouts and of course provide a ranking for the boys on the final team.

Don't forget to be ready to demonstrate to me also your success with the Fund-Raiser and how much you have been able to bring to the soccer funds.

If you check out the strategies page by going to the resource page and clicking on the strategies button at the bottom of the page and then entering the password which I gave out the meeting last year. If you don't remember it email me. If you then go to the "goal-setting" button on the left you will find on that page another requirement you might want to start thinking about in case you make the team

Don't forget I will also be looking for you to demonstrate you strengths in the postion you put down at the beginning of tryouts so practice the skills that will serve you the best at tryouts.

Advice:
On my many trips home to England I take the time to watch Professionals at practice. I always see them at some point juggling the ball. I am of the opinion that all team players should be able to juggle 40-50 times using the feet and thighs with no trouble. It is not just the skill that is important but the dedication and love for the sport that gets you to that point
